So, Golden Globes. I squealed aloud when Idris Elba won, and of course Peter Dinklage. My favorite dressed ladies this year were
Evan Rachel Wood,
Tilda Swinton,
Paula Patton,
Shailene Woodley,
Jessica Alba and
Kate Beckinsale.
They had
wardrobe fittings for Star Trek at Sony Studios last week and this week,
Zoe Saldana helped an elderly lady injured in a car accident across the street from the studio (the sculpture behind Zoe in the last pic is in front of a senior center across the street from Sony). I find this a bit unusual because Star Trek (TV shows and films) has always been filmed at Paramount Pictures, which is across town from Sony. Anyway, I suppose the more important question is whether
Sulu/Chekov will flourish? Will they go on
double dates with Spock & Uhura? I've never been so tempted to hide in the bushes at the Sony gates. ;-P
I drifted away from Glee this season, but I suppose I'll have to drift back, at least for an episode to see
Rachel's dads (OMG, don't read the comments).
Dany & Drogo at an AFI thingy with GRRM.
Daniel Henney looking attractive, as always.
I HAVE FINALLY SEEN MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - GHOST PROTOCOL!!!! SUCH FUN!!!
THANK YOU BRAD BIRD!!! The Iron Giant is one of my favoritest movies EVER, so I knew the M:I franchise was in good hands. His action scenes were so exciting and interesting, and I looooooved that they played the entire theme song at the beginning. It makes an old fan of the show like myself very happy (though I'll still never forgive the writers of the first film for what they did to Jim Phelps ::shakes fist::).
Tom Cruise was...Tom Cruise. ::shrugs:: My mother told me as we were leaving that she really noticed how Cruise was from the old school of acting, while Jeremy Renner was from the new school. I did looooove the beginning when Hunt was making his way through the prison, miming signals at Benji in the security cameras, and scaling the building was a very impressive scene, as well. Probably because his performance was entirely physical in those scenes and didn't say anything. ;-P
HI JEREMY RENNER HI! I love him. That is all.
MARRY ME PAULA PATTON. I also find it interesting that her character's last name is Carter when original IMF agent Cinnamon's name was also Carter.
SIMON PEGG!!!! Hilarious. And in the field!
O HAI JOSH HOLLOWAY! BYE JOSH HOLLOWAY!
I also loved the Russian agent dude chasing Hunt. He was great.
Yesterday I finally got around to seeing Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows, as well! Totally ridiculous, but again, SUCH FUN.
I had already been shipping Holmes/Watson and Holmes/Watson/Mary after the first film, and this one definitely reinforced my shipping tendencies, especially the OT3. I always love Kelly Reilly and her Mary is fab. I've never been a huge Irene Adler fan, but I was definitely sad that Moriarty killed her, unless it's a fake-out or something. LOOOOOVED Jared Harris' Moriarty. I adore him in Mad Men, so I was overjoyed when they cast him, and he was wonderful. Great Sebastian Moran, as well. Also very amused by Stephen Fry's Mycroft and I really liked his helper fellow Carruthers. Too bad we only got a glimpse of Lestrade and Clark. Oh! and Noomie Repace was great, too! If there were plotholes (which I'm sure there were), I neither noticed nor cared because it was such a fun and slashy ride.
My New Years Resolution? I'm going to try harder to keep up with Person of Interest and Once Upon a Time. So far, I remain on top of things.
I will be having no trouble keeping up with Southland and Justified because they're my Favorites. This week, both of these shows went by SO FAST. I felt like I had been watching for five minutes when I realized they were already half over. I really wish they didn't come on at the same time, though. I hate having to choose between them, even just by DVRing.
Southland is back, and I don't know how I've lived without it on my teevee.
I sincerely hope it doesn't take too long for Ben and John to kiss and make up.
Cooper looks so fit and fabulous.
So far very pleased with the Cooper/Tang partnership.
Aren't they adorbs? I understand her frustration over missing the food truck. ;-P But oh that video footage of her being attacked was just awful!
LYDIA ADAMS. ♥ 'Nuff said. The revolving door of partners for her continues to turn, I see, but her new partner is cool so far. I remember him from that mediocre NBC show, The Cape.
Dewey remains offensive but funny, as always. Sammy almost shoots a guy (I LOLed, too). And this is just the type of role I see Lou Diamond Phillips fitting into perfectly.
No Chickie this season? :-(
Justified was brilliant, as always. BOYD/RAYLAN!!!! Those two are so fantastic together.
Ava was awesome! More of Ava being awesome please!
Evil Quinn (from Dexter) was evil! He does look like he should be a villain since he lost weight.
Wynn Duffy likes women's tennis and will apparently be around more this year, which is great!
Evil Neal McDonough was very cool. He is such a great choice.
SO GLAD to see Art, Tim and Rachel again!!!
Was that the Wiltern Theatre where the Marshalls were waiting for the bad guy meeting?
Still don't care much about Winona, but that may be because I ship Boyd/Raylan, Boyd/Raylan/Ava and Tim/Raylan. ;-P
Besides for having some of the best dialogue, this also remains one of the funniest shows on TV.
Re: the preview for the upcoming season. Did I spy Frank John Hughes?
MUST FIND GIRL SCOUT COOKIES.
