SAD KEANU IZ IN MAI ELJAY, EATIN A SAMMICH, in honor of the recent
Cheer Up Keanu Day.
Sad Keanu really gets around.
In the
Envelope section of my L.A. Times paper today, there were some great interviews with Emmy contenders. Thankfully they're online, too, so I can link!
MCH &
John Lithgow from Dexter,
John Goodman &
New Orleans at the center of Treme. But my favorite thing was the For Your Consideration page dedicated to Justified, with Timothy Olyphant on the top half and Walton Goggins at the bottom.
After reading some posts about this week's Treme, I've decided to wait and watch the episode along with next week's season finale.
The Good Guys is getting a bit better. Of all the characters on the show, I think I like the random weekly evil minions best.
I liked this week's Lie to Me better than last week's, but still not as tight and clear as it could have been. I am happy that they didn't kill off
Robert the Bruce in the end, though.
The Tony Awards were on Sunday and they went about as expected. Memphis was going to win, La Cage was going to win, and Fences, too. Extremely pleased for Viola Davis, Levi Kreis, and Douglas Hodge. I was surprised that Scarlett Johansson won, but it was adorable how she made both Ryan Reynolds and Liev Schreiber get wibbly. I also wish anyone but Catherine Zeta-Jones had won for Leading Actress in a Musical.
Her rendition of "Send in the Clowns" had me wincing. I heard she's getting over a sickness, so that may have been part of the issue, but that doesn't excuse the constant head-tossing. She should take some pointers from
Judy,
Barbra &
Ruthie. Had some trouble enjoying the performance by the cast of American Idiot because all those flashing lights were just too much for my eyes. :-\ I still love you, Stark! One show that piqued my interest that I didn't know much about beforehand was
Come Fly Away.
Haven't been online nearly as much this week because of all the sports and the E3 coverage, which really makes me wish I had vast amounts of time and funds for the consoles and games. I would love to play
Ghost Recon Future Soldier,
Call of Duty: Black Ops,
Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood,
Bulletstorm,
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed,
Star Wars: The Old Republic, and
Child of Eden.
That's more like it, Lakers! If they don't win in Game 7, they don't deserve to be champions anyway, so hopefully they'll get it done tomorrow.
International broadcasters and viewers have been complaining about the vuvuzelas, which fans at the World Cup have been playing throughout the matches. I find them kinda hilarious, and it's pretty easy to tune them out after I've been watching for awhile. Some of the macros in this
vuvuzela apreciation thread are very funny, too. I'm really enjoying the World Cup every morning.
Mark Cavendish isn't making any new friends in the Tour de Suisse. It was a pretty nasty crash. They've been racing through some beautiful Swiss countryside, though.
A few days is a long time by the standards of teh internetz, but I think it's still important for me to point anyone who missed the latest racefail, this time at the
spn_j2_bigbang, to the
relevant discussions. Just from the summary, you can tell that fic ran the risk of being extremely problematic, but reading
some excerpts, my jaw literally dropped at the blatant racefail. The offending fic has since been deleted, but from the apologies of the author in question, she still seems pretty clueless, which boggles my mind. After all that infuriates you, read this
comic by
glockgal, which will make you laugh as well as wince.
