For some reason, when I got home today and tried to check my e-mail, my fingers were unable to remember my password! I tried and failed until Yahoo locked my address and I either had to wait 12 hours or unlock it through a secondary e-mail. In both cases, I'd still have to remember my password, but after waiting a few hours to let my brain rest, I came back, unlocked my address and tried again...and again...and third time's a charm, my fingers finally remembered the sequence that had completely left me before. I'm still baffled at myself for forgetting such a thing. I haven't been drinking!
I could have been drinking earlier if I wanted to because I spent the afternoon in a gay bar! Or a gay saloon on Ventura Blvd, rather. I seriously had no idea until I saw a bulletin board by the front door filled with very interesting pictures (hey, I never go to bars period, so I'd certainly never been to a gay bar ::shrug::). I wasn't there to get my drink on, though (that's so not me, anyway). I went to see a little Broadway revue my aunt and her friends were putting on, the proceeds of which benefited the Los Angeles Gay Rodeo Association! I'd never heard of the Gay Rodeo before, but apparently there are a number of them in many different states and it's been going on for years. I bet Jack & Ennis woulda liked that. ;-) Anywho, I sat at a table at the gay saloon with my grandmother, mother, my aunt's bf, and a few of her friends and had a very fun time hearing songs from many of my favorite musicals. My aunt performed "The Wizard & I," which I have a feeling she sang because of me. :-D And there was a very amusing rendition of "Big Spender" performed by a flock of gay men complete with Chippendales-style stripping. You knooooow, that might be why I was so discombobulated when I came home and couldn't remember my password. It was just completely surreal to be sitting there in between my mother and grandmother with SURPRIZE!!1! ALMOST NEKKID MEN LITERALLY RIGHT IN FRONT OF OUR FACES.
