I've been remiss in my updating, spending all my time on other people's journals. ;-)

Anyway, let's catch up. Earlier today, I watched the Air Race World Series. These guys race their small planes at over 200mph only 30 feet above ground, twisting and turning through gates. They're stunt pilots, old Top Gun dudes, etc. It's incredibly impressive, and I don't even have to say, muy peligroso.

Sporty-orty: Before the Air Race, I caught Keith Olbermann on the Sunday Night Football thingy. And y'know, I (barely) tolerated Bob Costas before, but when you put him next to Keith, he grates more than he ever did. I just can't help but compare because Bob is just smart-mouthed, while Keith wins at proper snark. And in the men's final of the US Open, Roger Federer won...again. It was a good match, though, and Roger had to fight for the first two sets. Though you couldn't tell it by looking at him. More often than not, he has this serene expression on his face. Unlike Serena Williams who threw a hissy last week and apparently has no class, which was so disappointing.

Yesterday was a brilliant TV day, with Doctor Who and Torchwood on BBC America, my alma mater playing football (even though they nearly choked), the High School Musical 2 Dance-Along (which was fun, though it was all too complicated for someone such as myself who only dances for fun on my own with no rhyme or reason. And with this whole Vanessa controversy, I'm worried about the fate of HSM3. This is why if you're going into politics or show biz, you should NEVER take pictures you may regret later, especially those types of pictures), then some Galaxy Quest (and I so did not realize Corbin Bleu was young Tommy!) and JP3. Is anyone still writing Alan/Billy?

Things to look forward to this week: Tuesday night, I'll be at the Hollywood Bowl to hear the LA Philharmonic perform Copland's Appalachian Spring and double bass virtuoso Edgar Meyer, too!

Thursday, we get a new Burn Notice with two fabulous guest stars, and in the season finale we get another awesome guest star. And I've said it before, but will say again, PLEASE GIVE BURN NOTICE A CHANCE!! The team is rag-tag though always capable, and things never go smoothly, but they improvise wonderfully. I love Michael (who is such a pro) and Fiona (::points to icon:: who needs to eat something, but I just can't help but like her), Michael/Fiona (OMG, het! But OMG, I like it!), Sam Axe (Bruce Campbell with a gun, YESYESYES) and Michael's family. And to think I wasn't initially going to give BN a chance. I actually have my mother to thank because Jeffrey Donovan was the guest star on her favorite episode of Threshold, and when she saw him in the commercial, she said we had to watch it.

Other future-type things: The next movie I'll see will probably be either In the Shadow of the Moon or 3:10 to Yuma. The amusing thing about 3:10 is all the press Christian Bale and Russell Crowe have been doing. Their banter is almost flirty. And while filming in Santa Fe, Bale kept singing the song from Newsies in his head. Some things you just can't shake.

And now I'll enjoy the end of Ocean's 11. Good times, noodle salad.
