1. Blink, Malcolm Gladwell
A study on the human ability to process information and make deductions in the blink of an eye through our subconscious and how accurate our first impressions tend to be. It's actually really well written and researched and was pretty easy to get through.

2. Illumination, Mary Ann Wikowski and Maureen Foley
A woman working as a freelance bookbinder in Boston can also see and communicate with ghosts. She starts helping out an acquaintance who is working with an ancient Celtic manuscript that has a couple of its own ghosts attached. It's a fast and fun read with a main female character who's a little different from the usual (30s, single mother).

3. Forgetting English, Midge Raymond
And absolutely amazing book of short stories by a woman who lives here in Seattle. Women are the central figures in each of the stories, and they all involve travel outside of the usual. I really want a copy of this one for myself.

4. Palimpsest, Catherynne M. Valente
Another book I want for myself. The author is a poet, but unlike most poets I've read, her narrative still has good plot and characters. This story revolves around 4 characters who all discover the city of Palimpsest at the same time. It's a city they can only get to in dreams, after sex with someone with the city's mark on his or her body--they all have bits of the city's map on their skin like a tattoo or birthmark. This author's imagination is amazing. I definitely recommend it.

...I don't think I'm missing any...
