Ok, that last post is blamed ENTIRELY on Grey
So, today was the last French class, last night was the last capoeira class, and both were awesome. I was feeling ridiculously lethargic last night, but things got a lot better as soon as I got to the space we used for class. Everyone had fun, so far as I can tell, but they got really worried when I told them that I wasn't going to let them talk out their moves in the roda. ^_^ They've gotten really good in just a few classes.
And French was fun, too. We went over some stuff from last class, and then I had them listen to a couple songs and try to fill in the blanks I'd put in their lyrics sheets. I think they liked it. And before class, one of the women gave me an absolutely gorgeous bookmark, and after class another of the women brought out these waffle things from this really awesome gift-sweets shop in town, one filled with red bean paste (anko) and one filled with custard, and the rest filled with some whipped cream and fruit. I had a kiwi--god, that was good. Some other flavors: mango, blueberry, and maple. I'm thinking about trying to bring some back with me, but I don't know how well they'll travel and my money for the summer is running really low.
And the next three nights are parties...for me -ish. Tonight is the good-bye/thank you party from the French and capoeira classes, tomorrow night Grey and I are back at Yoshioka-san's (if you remember me talking about the cooking party from January and the dinner party for Grey's parents earlier this summer), and the night after is, I think Inoui?Inui?-san-tachi-no. Then one night with Grey to myself and packing, and then I leave.

Also, I apparently impressed the French class by my ability to write in Japanese...because I know hiragana and katakana and basic kanji...
And Tuesday, rather than watching the lunar eclipse, Grey and I went to see a performance of the musical "Yuta to fushigina nakama-tachi." It was amazing...a professional theatre company came from Tokyo...it was amazing...and they had fly-lines... Damn, I miss theatre now...
And I really have gotten almost nothing done in the way of writing lately, so I'm going to head on over to the Center in a little bit and try to rectify that. ^_^
