Disclaimer: I do not own Bleach or its characters. Nope, no sir.
Author’s Notes: Short and direct. >.>; The Uryuu in my mind didn’t want to ramble as much as my Kisuke usually does. And yup, another speed fic~ Kudos to
bellumina who probably wrote something amazing and speedily yet again. XD
Title: Quincy Pride
Prompt: Cross
Words: 158
Fandom: Bleach
Characters/Pairings: Uryuu, introspective piece
The Quincy cross was something that had been handed down from generation to generation. More accurately, it was the design that was passed down. Everyone Quincy, upon the time of their coming of age, would learn to morph their own spiritual power into the cross that hung from their wrists. It was a family secret, and that was all there was to it. Uryuu prided himself on his Quincy cross, his only reminder of his grandfather that he had left. It symbolized something much more than just a family history, much more than just some tool to be used in battle. It was a gift, an irreplaceable one at that. His grandfather had taught him how to make it, and that counted for much more than the Ishida hierarchy. And when he swore on the pride of the Quincy, he was really swearing on his grandfather’s honor, his own honor. Traditional family lineage meant nothing to him in reality.
