Hey, Atlantis! It's your old pal, Shadow. Yeah, just thought I'd bring something up, call it a last request...

COULD THE REST OF THE SEASON BE AT LEAST AS AWESOME AS THAT?

Okay, okay, I will admit it. These guys sacrifice believability for character development. I AM OKAY WITH THIS, because I always care a lot more about the characters than I ever do about plots, which is probably another reason why I just can't ever write plotty things.

Okay, mum and I were just talking about how we knew the Keller relationships were supposed to start up and wondering when that was gonna happen. WELL THERE IT IS. I wanted to throw my remote at the TV. XD

I'm sorry! I just do not approve of them. This is Rodney. OKAY, YES, the alternate future showed them having a thing when they left Atlantis. I mean...I can believe that he has a crush on her. I also believe if they don't go back to Keller and Ronon having a thing, I'll be very upset, because they haven't done a THING since that episode where they almost kissed.

MOSTLY IT'S THE FACT THAT RODNEY + RELATIONSHIPS = NO. He and Sam? Never. I mean, he's probably had a thing for dozens of women with whom things have never worked out. HE WAS GOING TO PROPOSE TO THE BOTANIST FOR RA'S SAKE. But guess what? DIDN'T WORK OUT. He had a thing for Heightmeyer, didn't he? I brought that up with mum, I'm sure I didn't make up the fact that they at least had some kind of subtle undertone going on.

Just, he can't deal with women in a respectful manner. Not that I'm calling him misogynistic--he's like that with everyone. I don't think he'd ever have DONE anything with Keller if he hadn't been starting to feel the effects of the parasite and if he didn't know he was dying.

So it wasn't the best. But god. It was good for what it was. Always could be better, but srsly, it's something we needed this season. How much research did it take him to get acting like that so down pat? Give it up for the man, he can fucking act the pants off of like fucking anyone.

They left a few things out, unless I missed them. The team on the flooded planet? Did they ever find anyone, or are we to assume--like Rodney assumed--that they were all flooded out and killed? They breezed by the explaining how he contracted the parasite--weakened immune system (even moreso than normal) from a virus, then the water. But...that...doesn't explain how the parasite existed in such an environment, or, hell, how it even got INTO his system. Does it start as a microscopic one? I think so, since it didn't show up on scans. But it acted like a living thing. CREEPY. Also, lulz, make a hole in the skull and it'll run away from the radiation. The whole fact that they could understand a lot about this radiation they've never encountered is annoying. The weakening the immune system and the shrinking parasite.

Also lulz Wraith how'd they get off the planet without being detected? They have to dial the Gate. I guess it's that they'd be through it before they could figure out to fire at anything.

BUT YOU KNOW. WHATEVER. I APPROVE OF THIS EPISODE.

Two things, though:
1.) The one thought that stuck with me through this episode, sadly, is: OH THE SHIPPERS ARE GOING TO GO NUTS. I love how fandom_lounge over at journalfen (where I found the news to begin with, amusingly enough) was all LULZ THERE WILL BE MASSIVE WANK WONDER WHAT THE MCSHEPPERS WILL SAY. Those guys, man. It's like DW's Batchippers on an infinitely smaller scale.

2.) THE PREVIEW FOR THE NEXT ONE IN TWO WEEKS MAKES UP FOR THE FACT THAT I HAVE TO WAIT 2 WEEKS. \o/ YOU KNOW I LOVE ME SOME OF THAT.

...OH ALSO 3.) THE REASON IT ISN'T NEXT WEEK? VIEWER'S CHOICE ENTERPRISE MARATHON. FUCK. YEAH. WHICH MEANS that I'll be retarded and get up at 8 and watch it all day because they're bound to be almost all awesome episodes.

atlantis, spoiler alert, sci-fi is godly
