helioshyperion: It's been a while since I've read non-slash fiction. What's it called when it's not slash?
Me:...Het?
helioshyperion: Oh yeah! *goes back to typing*
And now, on to your regularly scheduled links.
1. Today, we begin with awesome. And by 'awesome', I mean 'sublime'.
After Elton (possibly my favorite site EVER.
"Death by Torchwood", anyone?) brings us
Six Awesomely Gay Things about the Venture Brothers. Let's just take a moment to bask, shall we?
1a. And now that we've basked, let's question. Considering that the sexuality of the characters they're talking about is framed as a source of humor, is it still queer positive? Granted, The Venture Bros is miles more queer-inclusive than most (all?) other shows on US TV, but is inclusion necessarily subversion?
1b. My next academic project may have to be constructions of masculinity in adult cartoons. I mean, I really really want to write this paper. Yes, I know, I'm a nerd, but I'm a socially conscious and interesting nerd.
2. Today's requisite dickery involves a police officer who
tackled a student for flipping off the principal. The fact that it happened on the school's Gender Bending Day and for no apparent reason is just... gah. I don't even know.
3. Finally, your wtf of the day:
Escaping crocodile causes plane crash. No. Really.
Also, I bought new boots. Photos to come.
