Home again for the weekend. Dad’s off to the annual Native American Basketmaker’s Fair, so I came home to keep Mom company. I’m typing this up and I’ll post it later when I get online.
We went to see I Am Legend, and I have to say I was pretty disappointed. I loved the book so much when I read it in high school; it was such a disturbingly perfect ending. But they changed a lot about the basic premise and the ending was especially pat and completely different. I hated it. It was totally wrong. Will Smith was still really amazing but I didn’t love the directing. They had all this shaky camera work, particularly at the beginning, that is supposed to be creepy and suspenseful, but just makes my eyes hurt and makes it hard to really make out what’s happening.
Also? This week’s Supernatural had some lovely moments, but I dislike some of the backstory that gets added in. No way was Sam that ignorant for that long.
We’ll see Golden Compass tomorrow. We went to have lunch at our favorite pizza place, Table Top, where we chatted forever with the woman who owns the place, like always. Her third grandchild was just born. Mom knitted a baby cap for the second grandchild when she was born. The pictures are up by the counter, they’re adorable. It’s always nice to see them again.
