Title: Loquacious
Characters/Pairings: Mohinder and Peter. Could be Mohinder/Peter if you like.
Rating: G
Warnings: None.
Spoiler alert: For the first series in a very general way.
Summary: Mohinder's got a way with words.
Word Count: 200
A/N: Because personally, I love Mohinder's voice overs.
Peter envies Mohinder his eloquence. That he can wax poetic about evolution and genetics, can so precisely quantify his ideas and dreams, his hopes for the future of science.
In conversation he gets carried away on flights of fancy, leaving Peter trailing behind with no hope of catching up. When necessary Peter will drag Mohinder off his tangents and set his feet back on the ground so he can make his point as concisely as possible. But given the luxury of time and a comfortable chair, Peter will smile and nod along, listening intently, enthralled by Mohinder’s fluency and enthusiasm. He could easily have been a poet.
Peter has tried to emulate this speech in his search for purpose, in the hope that he will be taken seriously. He never quite manages to carry it off; he uses the wrong tone of voice, “er”ing as he gropes for words just out of his reach. That he speaks of such as abstractions as “ambition” and “destiny”, fact only in that they are common feelings, cannot help things.
And so he returns again to Mohinder, his fellow romantic, to hear Mohinder’s dreams and see if he can’t put his own into words.
