Okay, I have to admit, I can kind of understand the Draco-in-leather-pants thing (albeit not with Draco himself - I honestly don't get why people liked him. Felt sympathetic maybe, but liked?), but what's with people suddenly denouncing goodies left right and sideways as evil? Seriously, have come across two examples in two fandoms in just the one day!
Read on to find out why Hermione is a psychotic bitch and the next Voldemort. I admit that they have fair points for why she can be a really nasty piece of work, but evil? A lot of this seems like what would be typical teenage behaviour if teenagers at large were suddenly given the opportunity to mess with magic. Especially the empathy thing. Most teenagers have selective empathy at best (I include myself in this, though technically I'm under that fence now).
And then we have Castiel. I'm not sure whether this is just a bad joke or whether some of the older or else more ardent/nonsensical Sam'n'Dean fans are pissed that he's hanging in there for another season and as a regular and thus they have to put up with this whole new section of fandom that they don't want crowding up their corner of the internet. Not that the two sections actually mingle or anything, but hey, whatever.
Why the hell they'd do the exact same thing over again that they did with Ruby is beyond me. And, no offense to Misha, 'cause I think he's awesome, but unless Castiel is seriously playing up the I-am-not-of-your-world stupidity he would loose horribly to Baldrick in any game of deception Dean and Blackadder could hope to come up with. The only time you cannot tell what he is thinking/feeling just from looking at his face is when he's confused, because you're simply not sure whether he's confused by some pop culture reference Dean made, or the fact that Dean is being so flippant in the face of something so epically dire. Or is it both? Without verbal indication, there's just no way of knowing.
Although fic-wise I kinda like the idea of evil!Castiel. Please tell me someone else is writing it!
So, in real life news, I have a rocking cold. Voice is distorted and I get very light-headed every now and then which mostly feels like I'm pleasantly drunk; the floor doesn't seem even for a few seconds, things are funnier than usual. Head floating sensation aside I'm bitterly annoyed that it's hung on for more than three days, which is about the longest I can stand doing the good patient bit. Unless I have flu of some kind, in which case I can stretch to a week. Here's hoping it takes the hint and fucks off sometime soon.
