Challenge 17 - Gifts
What is the oddest gift you have been given?
The amount of gifts that I've been given in my life time can be counted on a single human hand. I had never received gifts... and come to think of it, I don't really know what anyone could give as a gift to a truck.
But I did receive some.
The very first real gift that I ever received was friendship. Real friendship from Draco, and KITT shortly after that, and then Rakj'a, and then others after that. Draco had been the first to give it to me. I didn't ask for it; in fact, I was afraid of it. I was scared to take it, but it was a gift to me, and so I did what is customary to receiving gifts.. and I took it.
And I believe that that is the oddest gift that I have ever received. It was odd because.. because I was nothing but a physically and mentally broken truck, I couldn't trust, I was scared to love again, and I was almost completely immobile. What did they see in me? How could they look at me and see anything that was worth befriending? It didn't make any sense to me. I couldn't figure it out. I couldn't believe that there was actually someone who thought I wasn't a total waste of their time.... or a failure. It was so... strange. It was odd.
But I stopped trying to figure it out. And it may have been odd then -- maybe it's still odd -- but I don't think that really matters anymore anyway.
