Vacation 2007

Well our vacation 2007 in Fort Lauderdale Florida, started with a band we got up at 4:15 am for our 6;15 flight to New York’s, Laguardia Airport where we had a 2 hour lay over. Then we boarded our 3 hour flight from there to the Ft. Lauderdale airport the flight seemed very long! We arrived at the Ft Lauderdale airport and we thought it was going to be an awesome day because we arrived at our destination 45 minuets early, Darren’s bags were the first out of the shoot, and I waited and waited my bag was no where to be found. Alas American Airlines had “misplaced” my bag I was freaking out not sure what to do but there were about 15 other people whose baggage was also missing in action. So I followed them and reported it and the people in that area seemed clue less! So from there we went to the car rental place where we got our car a PT cruiser, yes a PT cruiser lol, nice car really! So we embarked for our hotel. We are staying at the Cabanas Guest house on NE 26th street in fort Lauderdale it was about 7 miles from the airport. We found it with no problem. We had to ring a buzzer to enter because it is a clothing optional Gay resort lol. We entered and it was awesome we got a tour from the owner! The place is fabulous! We would recommend it to any one looking for a nice get away! It is modestly priced with great amenities, 2 pools a steam room and a hot tub and individual rooms cabana style Pix to follow. We got settled in our room and then went out looking for a place to eat and we went to a sushi place the sushi was good. I called the airlines to find out the status of my luggage with a little persuasion I got them to ok me for a 50.00 comp for a bathing suit and other necessities, so we went to the local big and tall store and got my self a pair of bathing shorts and some boxers. We went swimming and took a dip in the hot tub; it felt good on our travel beaten muscles. We showered and went to bed. Awoke this morning and called the airlines they informed me that they found my luggage and it would be delivered some time today! So in good sprits I got up and went to partake in the complimentary continental breakfast, the Owner of the guest house saw mw and gave me some great news; my bag had been delivered he said it arrived at about 7:30 am now mind you I had just gotten off the phone with the airlines and they told me the delivery service had not yet picked up my bag. So I was happy to see my bag had arrived. Moral of this story is do not believe the airlines because they have no clue what they are doing! We have a fun filled day planed for today more to come.
