Wouldn't it be hilarious if today's Sherlock turned out to be the shittiest thing ever? And by hilarious, I mean awful. Everyone's saying, "I have faith in Moffat and Gatiss." Well, so do I, and I've seen a couple of reviews and I know it can't be that bad, but I keep expecting it to be more awesome than A Study in Pink and from the reviews, I feel like it won't be. I don't want to come away from it feeling disappointed, but the hype is too much. I'm staring at all these theories about who Moriarty's gonna be and I feel like screaming my head off because I'm so EXCITED, but it makes me terrified that the episode isn't gonna live up to this hype.
Normally, I'd be waking up at 8am for Sherlock, as I have done these past two weeks. But this time I'm watching it at 6am, because I have to go to a meeting at 9:45am at a school I've never been to in my life, and I have no idea how to get there, so I have to leave early and stuff. I signed up for some volunteering work teaching kids English, which is why I've got this meeting. I'm not sure if I'm even going to be able to sleep tonight. I'm too nervous about this finale.
First of all, I never actually wanted Moriarty to appear so soon, but here he is anyway. I just think three episodes is too soon, seeing as it took a while for Moriarty to appear in the books. I really hope that in the second series, we'll see some of Irene, because I HEART IRENE SO HARD. <3 I really wanted her to be in this series! As in, just Irene in this series, no Moriarty.
If Moriarty turns out to be Sherlock or John, I will be seriously disappointed, because I don't see a good reason why other than OMG IT'S A SHOCKING TWIST. I don't think Moffat would be the type of person to do that, anyway, judging by what he's done with Doctor Who so far.
A lot of people are saying Molly, or the person Molly's dating (Jim, from Molly's blog). This is plausible. At least, I can definitely see either or both of them having something to do with Moriarty, even if they aren't Moriarty himself.
The person whom I think is most likely to turn out to be Moriarty is Lestrade. I kind of want that to happen, but at the same time I don't, because I want Lestrade to be a good man. But then I hear him saying "Sherlock is a great man, and one day, if we're lucky, he might even be a good one," and... I don't know. I have this totally crazy theory in my head that Lestrade is doing all of this only so that Sherlock will turn into a good person or prove himself to be a good person or something, and it's just crazy and weird and it's never gonna be what the writers actually have in mind, but it makes a bit of sense in my head, anyway. :')
Definitely DNW Mycroft to be Moriarty. I want Mycroft to be a good man too, but even more than I want Lestrade to be one. I mean, in my head, Mycroft the brilliant older brother who really does care about and love Sherlock and stuff, so... if he turns out to be Moriarty, my heart will be utterly broken.
Anyway, all this speculating will be over soon. But god, apparently it's a cliffhanger ending. I hate cliffhanger endings, especially when they're gonna make us wait possibly more than a year for the next series, dammit. They're so gonna end with OMG DID SHERLOCK JUST DIE. Ugh. ):
In other related news, I watched all of Fortysomething (it's only got 6 episodes, sigh) over the past two days and it's AMAZING. Someone over at
sherlockbbc linked it. It's a comedy series starring Hugh Laurie that aired back in 2002, I think, and it's got Benedict Cumberbatch in it, and Stephen Fry makes a cameo, and Peter Capaldi plays quite a major role (I know him from Torchwood S3 as Frobisher, some of you will probably know him from The Thick of It), and everyone is hilarious, and it's just AWESOME. <3 I hate that it's only got 6 episodes. You can watch all of it over on youtube:
Fortysomething!
(I love Benedict Cumberbatch so much. ♥)
