Religious/Faith Geekery?

So I know beliefs are a point of contention with, like, practically everyone. I'm not trying to throw mine at anyone's face. I just felt the need to share this, because it was awesome.

I love it when I pray, and something changes. An immediate difference that I can clearly see.

Tonight (this morning, I suppose) there was a rather large 'squall line' with 'super cells' (weather sites' terms, I don't know wtf it even means except BAD) heading across Florida. Well, there still is, technically. But, see, I was looking at the radar images, and all the big, heavy-duty storms were set to cross RIGHT over the exact location I'm in. Like, I did one of those zoom-in things where you find your street? And the projected path was literally going to send a big red/pink zone right over us. With possible hail and tornadoes.

So, obviously, I was wigging out a little bit. Like you do.

And so I prayed, which if I'm being honest is something I kind of suck at doing. I've never been very comfortable with the 'conversational' sort of praying - but in a crisis I'm all over it. So, I prayed. Specifically, I prayed, that the storm would either weaken, or that the bad stuff would go around us.

Not fifteen minutes later, the radar image showed the biggest red areas moving south before they got over to the east far enough to hit us.

Yeah, you can blame the wind and the weather patterns and whatever natural causes you want. I'm sure people with science in their heads will think this is nothing special. But for me, it's this kind of thing - the little things -  that reinforce my faith.
