Zombies? That's an awfully left-field statement, if you don't mind my saying so.

Lacking a fear of death, mmm...

Zombies are something not meant to be~ Possessing a sense of death is an important aspect of all things...

Perhaps I'm just talking to myself out loud, yoho~ Old age and all that, mm?

I suppose I shouldn't expect any other viewpoint from the god of death, now should I?

Oho~

Fear is an important aspect of life~

I must respectfully disagree. Fear keeps us trapped, bound to the lives nature assigns to us. In order to transcend, to rise above the limits that bind us from birth, one must cast aside fear entirely. Fear makes us human, and refusing it makes us so much more.

Fear is meant to be overcome! To cast aside fear entirely is to begin the path down darkness~

A human's strength is found in not casting aside its humanity, but rather embracing it--and embracing fear itself!

If one wishes for true strength, then one must strength one's soul.

Humanity is weakness. People are petty, cruel, unambitious. What is there to embrace? Courage? Kindness? Pretty words, of course, but in the end that's all they are- abstract fantasies they use to delude themselves into thinking they're worth anything at all.

Real power requires the strength to reject all of that. To cast off the lies and see the world for what it really is. To transcend, and become more than human. To become a god.

Perhaps your world operates through fanciful magic and fantasy. But mine operates on rational principles. Things like physics, biology, mathematics. "Souls", gods, afterlife- they do not exist.

If my world operates just as well as yours, then who is to say which is rational and which is not~?

No human nor god should be making such a judgement.

However, regardless of the case, a human casting away his humanity...

That is not the path of true power. Not the path of a god, that is for sure~

It would appear that the requirements for becoming a god are much more relaxed in your world, yes.

Casting away one's humanity for the sake of unbridled power...

The exact method you describe to become a 'god' exists in my world as well.

However, what is a human without humanity, ya? What motivation is there to become a god if one must sacrifice that which separates them from monsters, mmm?

Craving power for the sake of power...

That is not a path one should follow. No, no.

How lucky for me, then, that whatever God of Death my world may harbor is much more easily thwarted.

Delusions of grandeur~

Pity, pity...

Perhaps. I aspire to become more than I am, more than I was supposed to be. If this is arrogance, then so be it.

I am committed to the pursuit of power. And I always will be.
