Day One Master Cleanse - Major Caffiene withdraw

Feb 21, 2009 22:29

Well this is the end of day one. The lemon juice wasn't as bad as I expected it to be but it wasn't  delicious either. I did lick the maple syrup off of the spoon when I was done mixing. I have a feeling that's going to be a treat for me :) the intensity of the cayenne pepper wasn't so bad, just very spicy and made me sweat a bit. I suggest shaking it up before taking a sip because it tends to all float to the top.

The salt water flush was .....interesting..... It was pretty gross. I seriously had to drink the majority of it through a straw. GUU - ROSS!  It took me about 35 - 40 minutes to down the whole liter. I didn't expect 1 teaspoons of sea salt to be so potent! GEESH! Needless to say it worked the way it was supposed to. Elimination happened like, RIGHT away, as in, 10 - 20 minutes right away. I guess I know what I won't be doing  before going into work in the morning. I'm going keep these flushes for the evening.

Side Effects:

I have had a pretty big  headache throughout the day but I blame that on two things.

1)  I had beer at bdubs lastnight and
2) I am having MASSIVE caffeine withdraw!

I even had to take a short nap to calm the headache. I am used to drinking 3 plus cups of coffee a day and I usually take it black. Not sure if that matters but I totally should have weened myself off of the caffeine. I was impatient :P

I have been a bit tired throughout the day but again that is another symptom of caffeine withdraw. I just keep reminding myself that I will feel much better when all of the junk is out of my system.

I don't feel particularly different as far as anything else goes. I am pretty hungry which is expected. I went to the movies earlier to see Coraline (excellent movie) and it was really hard to pass up the concession stand. My boyfriend has been really supportive, by joking around with me about it bad parts. I think at the end of every day I will accompany it with a meditation, just for myself to keep up the process. This part isn't mandatory, just personal preference and something that helps me.

So far so good. The next two days will be the toughest so that's the biggest test of my will power. That was day one, I will update tomorrow and let you all know how it goes.
