Why must everything work against me?

I HATE UPS. With a passion. I have yet to have a UPS driver actually deliver a package for me. It's always the same problem. Someone is home to sign for the package, yet the doorbell never rings, and there's a note on the door saying they were there. I should have had my new cell phone yesterday. I wrote a note saying someone WAS home to sign. ( Read more... )

I hate UPS sometimes too. sooperglu November 16 2004, 16:11:11 UTC
Especially when I shipped my computer to school and when I set it up it wouldn't turn on. They dropped it then said that they didn't break it because the box wasn't damaged. What the fuck ever. They didn't even reimburse me for it.

That's really lame. I had a similar problem with a DVD player, but luckily for me a UPS store had actually packaged it for me, so I was able to convince them it was their fault no matter what.

I have always believed that when a person has a job to do, no matter how much they hate their job or how un-challenging or mundane it is, they should still do the best they can. They are fucking getting paid for it ( ... )

Thanks. :) shades747 November 16 2004, 17:40:25 UTC

I know they're just human like the rest of us, and they have thier own bullshit to deal with. My father has been a driver for UPS for over 20 years now. I know the drivers aren't treated all that well, but it still annoys me to no end. If it was just this one driver on our route, I would only be a little upset. But I seem to always have this problem, no matter where I've lived in Seattle. They have NEVER delivered a package, I always end up giving up and just picking it up at the UPS center.

Good news is after "talking" to them, I "convinced" them to redeliver today. I just checked and the phone was signed for at 4:20 (weird). So I have my phone waiting at home, and I'm in a much better mood already.

Now if only the rest of my life wasn't so mundane... (I guess I should be happy this small thing is the top of my problems.)

You're not the only one, and it's not just your driver, either. I had a few packages sent to me at my old apartment. Like you said, never had a problem with FedEx, never had a problem with the fucking Postal Service, either, but UPS?? I'd see those bastards get out of their truck without a package, go up to the door, and just stick a note on the door and leave, with out ever ringing the goddamned buzzer.

I had it happen once where I was expecting something from Amazon, and I was home, and awake before work at 10 am (a rare occurrance, let me tell you). I had my coffee, watched some TV, and left at my usual time to go to work, and I saw a UPS note stuck to the door, checked it out of curiosity, and it was for me. The "attempted delivery time"? 11:30 am. I was awake. My phone was on, and I was not talking on it, but strangely I didn't recieve a call.

Fuckers. I feel your pain, and I'm glad you'll have your phone waiting for you when you get home. :)

I'm also glad that things worked out better for you in the end.

Ever notice how when something happens that really pisses you off, it's not anything really EXTREMELY important, just something that aggrivates you to the point of a sanity check, that when you vent about it and bitch and moan (like I do quite a lot in here, BTW) like there's no tomorrow, like the next time it happens, yer gonna string up whomever is responsible and let them rot where they hang....and then it all gets rectified and everything is better and you feel smugly justified in your complaints because the cosmos has intervened on yer behalf and ALL IS RIGHT WITH THE UNIVERSE! Or is it just me? (man, I really need a smoke about now...I'm getting a bit loony....)
