Fucking HATE the court system

Sep 29, 2004 13:00

So, a few weeks ago, I went out drinking on a Sunday night, then couldn't drive home. Left my car parked outside Wes's place and took a cab home. Ended up getting a $44 parking ticket for parking in the wrong zone. I was not happy, but yeah, I was in a zone 7 and had a zone 10 sticker (or maybe it's the other way around?). Anway, with the cost of ( Read more... )

Normally, I'd jump at that opportunity, but I have tickets to Ministry tonight (which are already paid for).

Thanks though.

*stabs the parking Nazi bitches*

I fucking hate that shit, I know exactly what you mean. I got two parking tickets on Hank in the last 2 weeks.

The first one because I parked in the quarter of a block (wait, not even, it's a quarter of the side of the street) that isn't Zone 7, instead it's 2 hour limit.

The second because I forgot to put my temporary Zone 7 permit in the window while I ran inside for 15 fucking minutes! The bitch was literally just down the street, and the ticket was for two minutes before I got there. Grrr.

So anyway, I took Hank to get him registered after you fixed him, and they told me I had to get an emissions test. Okay, fine, whatever. I passed the test (which surprised the fuck out of me, because, well, you've heard the muffler...) and went downtown to register the car, and they said "You have parking tickets that you need to pay before you can register your car."

I couldn't pay them there, of course, that would be too easy. I had to go across the street to the courthouse, pay the tickets, come back to ( ... )

Yeah, the first parking ticket I got was because my permit expired. They wrote me the ticket 2 hours before the mail arrived with my new permits, which were already paid for. They took forever sending them, so I had to pay a parking ticket. It was cheaper to pay it than try to go and fight it, which would make me miss work.

Glad to hear you passed the emissions test. I would have guessed you'd fail that one. I'm just glad I drive a "classic" and don't have to follow those rules. :)
