What's your nightcap

Life without Sekhmet (My computer), Fatima (my bicycle), the large TV I used to play video games on or much of a social life has left me a little down in the mouth.

One pick me up I use to add spice to my lifestyle as a reclusive monk with nerd tendencies is alcohol. In particular, I enjoy my homemade concoction:

Now most people are familiar with Bloody Maries (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bloody_Mary_%28cocktail%29), but they vary a great deal form place to place and I never feel like I have the right spices to make it properly highbrow. Essentially, this lady is out of my league.

A Virgin Mary, near as I can tell, would just be tomato juice and spices, but I must admit I have never seen the appeal of either virgins or non-alcoholic drinks. So again this lady is not for me.

Instead I bring the drink to my level: the Used Goods Mary. It combines the kick of Vodka with easier to acquire spice for the bite. This is a lady that has bite and kick because she's done it before, and there is no greater teacher than experience.

Used Goods Mary

In a highball glass pour in order and stir:

-Half Absolut Peppar vodka
-several dashes of tabasco
-Half Tomato juice, V8 or similar no-name knock-off vegetable juice
-Fresh ground peppar

A friend of mine tried one recently and told me it was like drinking alcoholic Tabasco. We disagreed on whether or not this was a good thing.

I assure you the horrifically sexist name is meant to be satirical.

So everyone, what are your nightcap/drinking alone guilty pleasures? Bailey's and chocolate milk? Hot rum toddy? Alcool? Pepsi and Galliano? Orange juice and maple syrup liqueur?

Cheers!
