I dislike ERs greatly too

The last few days have been miserable - I had an acute allergic reaction to something currently unidentified. I had splotchy skin, swollen everything and a nasty case of the itchies. I took benedryl but that only did so much. Today, the swelling got to be too much to bear - trouble moving my toes, fingers, knees- I had no knuckles to speak of on my hands. The doctor could see me - my regular dr has mondays off, the other dr in her office could only double book me at 2 and Hubster went back to work today so that wasn't going to work and the swelling was just getting worse and worse. So - off to the ER we went. inlaws took Wolverine and CrazyHorse was in school, thank goodness we didn't get the snow last night! They took me right in, no waiting room sitting (which is actually kind of scary). the poor nurse guy tried to put an iv lock in and had a terrible time of it. He tried three times - and he was really gentle about it but it still hurt like mad - almost as bad as my pseudoarthriticness. A lady nurse came in, got the needle they use for kids, and slid it right in to the back of my hand, no fuss. So - after a round of corticosteroids and soemthing else - the rash is mostly gone and the swelling is going down. Not enough to fiddle online much - it's taken me three sittings just to write this.

Today could be worse - I could have had to use the epipen. But, I did get a rejection upon coming home from the hospital. Joy.

If I'm not online much for a while - you'll know why- I can read and surf but typing really hurts still.

sick, ick
