(no subject)
Not much happening, so now I actually have more time to update this crazy thing.
I still have yet to find/move into a new apartment, but I will be leaving Louisville on Thursday, so I probably won't do to much with that this week - I'll just have to hit it hard next week.
So far, UPS has been pretty nice this week, I've gotten there around 5, and left before 10 last night and tonight. I hope it keeps up for tomorrow, it's nice to be home before 10pm. I also signed up for my 401k plan yesterday, so I can start saving for the future.
Also, I had a surprise gig yesterday morning. Prof. Heim called me on the way from AL to Louisville and asked if I was free on Mon. morning, and of course, I was. So I got to play for a fairly prominant community member's funeral (I think he was a found of a large law firm or some other quite profitable business - there was a large crowd and payed chamber orchestra). One other nice aspect was that two of the other horns were current members of the Louisville orchestra, and the first horn was the former principle horn of the LO. I chatted with them all, talked some shop, compared horns, etc, and in the end the two LO guys took down my name and number - hopefully that will get me more gigs later. At any rate it was nice to finally be introduced to all of those guys. My new horn performed well on her first outing - a good sign since the trial period is not yet up.
