"Bleed" by Meshuggah is a fucking beast of a track.

I'm not really in to metal right now, but to me Meshuggah is more of a rhythmic noise experiment. It's music written by a drummer. The guitars and bass are just additional hammers beating down.

I've been listening to The Beatles exclusively for a little while, but this Friday I'm going to see Mastodon/Dethklok/Converge/High on Fire (FUUUUUUUUCK YEAH) so I thought I'd ease myself back into metal beforehand ( Read more... )

I think I owe Shai Hulud and Meshuggah's 2008 records more time. Gojira's was the right record at the right time for me. Versions is such a sweet album. It's easily my favourite album in 2007 so far, though I expect Dillinger Escape Plan's upcoming one Ire Works is going to be better. I think Meshuggah's new one is coming in 2007 as well, and I expect I'll enjoy that album as well ( Read more... )
