Rage. I hate Microsoft.

In the past few years I've acquired deep and abiding hatred for Microsoft screwing around with my computer--today, for instance, all of the sudden, they froze all of my Windows programs until I updated that asinine "prove to us that your copy of XP is legit" patch--even though I'd already registered my copy with them!  Considering one of the programs they froze was INTERNET EXPLORER, I had a hell of a time trying to download that stupid patch, because IE froze my computer every time I tried to use it! (It took me about an hour to make things work just enough to install it, and it kept freezing my computer everytime I opened anything Microsoft designed.  And I know it wasn't a virus; I run complete virus checks of my machine every day!  I'm pretty furious at the moment, actually.  I bought my copy legitimately, through their supplier, went through all the hoops, and then they freeze it because I hadn't let them plant their newest controls on my computer?!?! Screw that! I refused to upgrade to Vista because I wanted to avoid that, and now they've forced that crap on me anyway!

And the best part? Thanks to Disney's, the major record studios', and Microsoft's deep pockets and several well-placed campaign donations, among other things, the legislature has given them the right to do that to anyone they suspect might have pirated software/copyrighted material.

The hell they do!

That's the very last straw for me.  I'm going to buy a Mac the next time I have to replace my puter, or just go with Ubuntu or something on my PC.  I'm so fed up with Microsoft.  I hope hackers do totally jack up Vista to the point no one will want to use it, because it would simply be karmic justice.

I'm really, really upset. I'd been downloading something which had taken hours to get to the point I was at, and I had to cancel it (with only 2.5 hours left to go!) just to restart my computer--again. I hate Microsoft.  *fuming*

Special place in hell, let me tell you.

I'd like to point out that I can say with 100% confidence that I don't have a single piece of illegal/pirated software on my computer (though I do need to try to figure out WinRar's stupid purchasing forms again. I tell you, those things are designed to confuse.).  Heck, I don't even have any form of a music-sharing program! I have a total of two legal, free shareware-type programs, and everything else has been bought and paid for (and registered)!  As such, I'm pretty upset that they had the sheer gall to do this to me.

flipping out, infuriated, frustrated, glaring menacingly
