Swings and roundabouts.

Things went well yesterday then less so.

Work wise I managed to get a lot of niggly annoying jobs out of the way, and do a bit of a sales pitch for an interesting potential opportunity for someone else.

I had a lot of meetings and had to get out to the bank for work, while trying to be available for a beer delivery, time unspecified.

The beer got delivered just as I was heading out to the bank, so no awkward running back to the car from the bank, or having to dash out of a meeting.

Once home I was able to have a nice stodgy tea of macaroni cheese with chorizo, with out worrying about inducing indigestion in Munchkin. Found I had two knitting magazines delivered - a new shiny yarn forward that look good, complete with free silk-cashmere yarn, and Vogue international which is mostly hopeless, but as I canceled the subscription some time ago, I can't complain.

Then went on to finish another item on my commission list and vent the beer with only a slight beer shower. (I have discovered that an old beanbag makes for good stillage!)

All was going well until Munchkin came back from fencing. After a bit of a chat, he went off to bed. I responded with the seemingly innocent comment of "I'll just wind this new skein, tap the barrel and come to bed"

At half one M came done to see if I needed any help. Dealing with superfine yarn that seems to snag on itself, my gardening battered hands and thin air single-handedly was a mistake. Once I started to get tangles, I didn't want to leave it as I didn't know when I would get the chance to finish it.. I got to a stage where I could leave it just before three, then finished winding it this morning.

Still it's really quite nice yarn if a bit too green for me.

Tapped the barrel this morning, with only a little spillage and it looks like the gasman inspecting today didn't need to see in the cupboard under the stairs after all. Don't suppose they have a box on the form for - failed to inspect meter due to beer barrel in the way!
