SATC Movie/ Cashmere Mafia

Calling all SATC fans out there....
(if you don't know what SATC means...you shouldn' t be reading this)

The countdown for the long anticipated movie of the hit TV series, Sex and the City has begun. ( see movie trailer below)
Dear god, please please, I hope Singapore is going to show the movie when it opens in May 2008. (In case you don't know, the series was not allowed on the Singapore cable network for the longest time while the whole world was catching on to the Carrie-mania. I guess the MDA finally realised that how stupid it will reflect on the nation if nobody knew the story of Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha. One of the most fashionable TV series ever made!!! Hmmm...I wonder if it has to do with the fact that the movie has a HUGE gay following that got the MDA undecided about airing the series. In case they are seen to be supporting the gay agenda or something.Whatever! )

Anyway, I can't wait till the movie comes out and I am sure there are lots of you out there just like me. I managed to "you-tubed" my way to the movie trailer and thought it would be nice to share it here and maybe start a chain of discussion and excitement about the movie.

Well in case you can't wait and is suffering from a SATC deficiency syndrome. here's a new TV series you may want to catch out. Starring Lucy Liu ( yes!!!). It's a story of ( listen to this) 4 beautiful women living in NYC. Bestfriends for 15 years since business school and each successful in their own ways. Unlike the SATC girls, they are not all single and looking for the man of their life. But, like the SATC girls, they like to get together for lunch dressed in the most fashionable outfits you can image and they love a glass of martini.

Mia ( Ms Lucy Liu) is a successful publisher ( hmm.. my dream too) who is dumped by her BF because he cannot handle the fact that she is better the him. Zoe is an investment banker with a work-from-home architect husband, struggling to manage her family life with her work (and her GFs). Then we have Juliet, a very successful COO for a hotel chain, who tries to keep her "perfect" family going, except that her husband has a wondering eye (and prick) - due to the lack of attention from his powerful wife, so he claims. Lastly, we have Caitlin, single & beautiful marketing executive for a cosmetics company, but not quite sure what she likes (Yes! I am referring to her sexuality. Oh dear, another reason we may not see the show here.).

Well there you have it, I will leave you to decide if you like it or not. If nothing else, just looking at the clothes the girls are wearing is a good fix for your SATC withdrawal. OOps! I forgot to mention that the ladies are styled by Patricia Fields, the woman behind the wardrobe in SATC.

Enjoy this trailer...
