Why you should watch Steven Universe
I'm into a lot of shows right now. I like Arrow, Flash, Bob's Burgers, Master of None, Agent Carter and The Grinder. They're not my normal list as I'm usually into scifi but I just haven't gotten into the scifi shows lately.
There is one show, however, that bridges this gap and it is AMAZING when watched in order. I only wish I knew more people who watched this show.
I'm speaking of Steven Universe. It's a cartoon on Cartoon Network but one of the main animators came from Adventure Time and that definitely shows. What do I love about it?
1.) The music! The characters break into song at some of the more emotional times and it really works well. Here are a few awesome videos you should watch to convince you to see the show. It's almost like watching fanvids that are really well done except they were on the show and they work. (These videos are spoilers but specially chosen to show you what the show is like)

2.) Strong, team-based relationships and even the romantic relationships are understated but so strong. I don't know if the gems technically have a gender but each is a "her" and they have relationships with each other called fusion and it's an interesting concept. Sometimes fusion is just coming together to become something more but I get the feeling with some characters there is a romantic relationship there. It's really awesome to see.

3.) It's science fiction with complex plots and characters. It takes a while for it all to come together (more than a season) but once it does it is so worth it. There's a darkness even to the light characters and a light even to the dark characters and it's really special and well-thought out.
4.) The first few episodes aren't fantastic so give it more of a chance but the humor is smart, the writing is something special and different, and the show is so much fun. If you want team dynamic where people will go to no end to help each other, this is the show for you.
