The fact that the Wraith are the children of the Dark god isn't supposed to be a bad thing, the goddess loves both Light and Dark equally, and I did try to keep any negative connotations about Darkness out of it. Both the Light and the Dark were equally favored by her, and equally guilty in forgetting about her. In fact, the Wraith don't really get evil until the second half, for an as yet undisclosed reason. I just haven't had time to write the second half, and I wanted to get the first up before the deadline for the challenge, so I couldn't post them together.
Thanks, I have to say being compared to Diane Duane is a seriously huge complement! I'm a big fan of hers, especially her Wizard series, though I've yet to read the Tale of Five. I'm so glad you like Hem'run and his daughter. The frame for the myth was actually the last part that I added, sort of a last minute idea when I decided that the myth itself needed some context.
