Wonderful! Yeah, you don't throw over everything you've been raised to believe like she did without something deep going on for a long time.

Yes, exactly - she must have actively searched for those drawings she showed Daniel, for example. There had to be deep roots. And it was marvelous to have the chance to try and find them. :)

Whee! It's posted! I love the subtle changes (and the title is so fitting, I'm glad you never changed it, forgot to mention that before).

I love Shau'ri's planned defiance and her realization alone in the dunes. Very nice.

Thanks for coming to my rescue! And yes, Sha'uri must have planned things out - look what a good job she did on rescuing Jack and Daniel. :)

Wonderful look at the Sha'uri we know she had to be! And I loved the emphasis on Daniel's glasses and the tie-in to the eye of Ra, that's a great point. Good job, great read!

Thanks! That bit with Daniel's glasses - it always bothers me when fanfic writers have off-worlders see his glasses as a sign of weakness. Why should they, after all? So I'm very glad that particular bit worked for you. :)

I think people kind of jump on what Jack did in 'Prisoners', removing Daniel's glasses. But he was coming from an Earth perspective where glasses can often be perceived as weakness.

::nods:: Yes, Jack saw glasses as a sign of weakness, but there's no indication anyone else did - and, in fact, hiding Daniel's glasses didn't help, did it?
