Daniel's Chocolate Energy Bars - An Investigation.

What is this food item that Daniel eats and tells Chaka is good? In the interest of verisimilitude, I investigate. I have in my hand, a "Bioprotein Chocolate Coated Chocolate Energy Bar". I have no idea what kind the U.S military includes in their MREs, so I don't know how truly similar this is, but it should give the general idea

Oh, the things we do for fandom!

I have also wondered about those granola-like thingys which they tend to eat (Daniel has offered Jack one on a couple of occasions). I have odd food intollerances (don't ever give me oats!) and the seed-bar things I eat instead seem to look rather like them.

p.s. No, I haven't forgotten your translation, I've just been back to work this week and so having been killed by RL am brain dead.

Not to worry! It's not like most folks are reading the heiroglyphs and going all Daniel about the word order! Besides, if I was really worried about it, I would have pulled out the books by now. I've been knee deep in finishing stories. Once I have your opinion, I will pull out the books, because comparing your ideas, and what I have now, will teach me something! : )

I just downloaded the History Channel documentary on The Book of the Dead. I was squeeing at them dramatizing both it (I loved the chap who played Ani and I understood some of the Egyptian) and the story of Budge stealing it (they did the story about drugging the guards and digging a tunnel!).

It also had Stuart Smith in it!!!

He was banging on about his love of the BotD, evil beetles which would eat you in the underworld (guess who he sold **that** too?) and of course how bad Budge was. Listening to him talk I am beginning to suspect that despite his obvious Big Knowledge (PHd and anthropology professor all that) he is a bit **obsessed**. I must send him an e-mail.

I was EXTREMELY surprised about Zahi Hawass being complimentary about Budge BTW ... and they did a lot of shooting in the Egyptian galleries at the BM which was fun.

Oh, yeah---someone's actually eaten one of these. I'm always amused that Daniel shares his with Jack--and these actually seem to be the one thing Daniel will eat in the field and not complain about.

It is also amusing that Daniel uses food--chocolate and candy bars as currency. You do get the feeling from this that he's traveled places on Earth were food as currency goes down just as well.
