Well, the presents have all been passed out. Dinner is done and eaten. Christmas movie has been watched (a really weird version of Charles Dickens Christmas Carol. Both my husband and I agreed it looked like the animators were tripping on something during a good portion of the movie, but the music was great.) Now what do you do?
What is there to most holidays after the meal is done and the appropriate holiday movie is watched? I'm trying to come up with things to do as a family that seem festive, but what is there really to do. The kids all have new toys they want to spend time playing with, so they don't really want to sit and do anything with mommy and daddy. Jess is working on music, and I'm not going to complain there. He has a dead line, and hasn't composed a single song all week for the play he is writing music for. Besides, what is there to do now? We don't have family to go over to, so there's no catching up with anyone we haven't seen in a while.
I'm not complaining. We had a nice day. Forgot a few things while doing dinner, so had to run around like a chicken with its head cut off to catch up on what needed done before the turkey was done cooking, but that's how most holiday meals are for me, so nothing new there, and everything turned out alright. I guess I'm just wondering what other people do on this day to fill up the day.
There's the usual everyday things to do, but that doesn't seem like the right thing to do on a holiday, especially one like today. I feel sort of bad being on the internet now, but like I said, kids are playing with toys (except Lizzy, who is taking a nap) and Jess is working on his music, so I might as well do something for a bit.
