I have a friend who works at J.Crew. Earlier this week, I went by to see her, and while she was attending a customer, I was talking with one of the guys in there. (Despite the fact that I've never bought anything for myself in there, I'm there pretty frequently running errands for The Maternal Unit. I work, like, two minutes away from it, so it's convenient for me to do that. So they all know me.) He was telling me that I've attracted some small level of attention from a particular guy in there; he gave me his name, but I couldn't put it to a face. Once he said "Our resident Hispanic princess", I knew to whom he was referring. We all concluded that he'd be proud of the appellation.
Anyway, here's why I'm posting: I was flipping through a magazine in there, and stumbled upon this gem of a quote (emphasis added) in an article about eco-snobbery:I was offered
placenta sushi and told that by rejecting it I was wasting the by-product of producing a child and letting complex nutrients go to waste.
I've posted about placenta so frequently, I think it deserves its own category.
