diet

I started the South Beach Diet a month ago in an attempt to get my body back down to my "regular" size. I guess bingeing on carbs and drinking wine every night while not exercising put me over the edge (you think?). :)

So, the first two weeks were extremely hard, but I lost about 8 pounds. Now, I am pretty much at my normal weight and have been able to maintain this weight by reincorporated carbs into my diet. This is also the reason why I haven't really lost any more. Well, that and I still haven't exercised. I need to join a gym!

My goal is to lose 5 - 10 more pounds. I know that's a lot and I have to make major changes to my lifestyle in order to achieve that. The only problem is that I am going home in two weeks and my mother will undoubtedly stuff me with my favorite (read: bad) foods. Sigh. It's a never ending cycle.

Hopefully when I go home I will get out enough to burn off those extra calories. My cousin has five longboards so he promised to teach me how to surf, which should be a blast! We also have plans to go scuba diving and hiking. The only thing I am dreading is the HEAT.

Guam is super hot and humid. The temperature is a constant 86 degrees. When you step off the airplane, you immediately feel your clothes clinging to you from the sudden moisture in the air. It's even worse than Hawaii. At least in Hawaii you have the trade winds to cool you down!

Anyway, I shouldn't complain. We are sooo looking forward to our trip in two weeks!
