I switched webcams from Microsoft to Logitech. It seems to work better. I also got it on sale at Staples. The price had already been dropped $30, plus with a 20% coupon, I got the price to drop another $6. It's considerably smaller, but it's higher quality.

Well, it appears the old motherboard decided to give up the ghost after 2 years, and after spending over $800 in new components and waiting well over a week, the computer is back up and running.
