[ Log/Third Person Sample ]:

Being a medical practitioner on a ship was one thing, but being down here, planet side and in the nitty gritty of a conflict was entirely another. Christine knew that there was no way McCoy would even suggest her leaving sickbay to come down here unless there was no other option. Mr. Spock was well trained enough to assist in more straight forward tasks, but right now they could use all of the cover they could get. They all had no choice.

What made matters worse was the distinct lack of training she had for this sort of thing. Sure, every now and then there were survival seminars and sections of general cadet training that showed them the basics, but over the years she hadn’t touched a phaser or tracked an enemy without a tricorder [not that the latter was necessary at the moment]. If things got worse, would she even be able to defend herself.

Thankfully the transporter point was only a few thousand feet from their destination and when she caught sight of their patient she exchanged a confused and curious glance with Jim. The very pregnant woman laying on a bed in the back corner of the hut was writhing in pains most likely caused by labor, and when they crossed the threshold. Bones didn’t skip a beat in rushing to the woman’s side but it took a very curt Nurse Chapel! to snap Christine out of her shock.

Once she began to assist, opening her medical kit and handing Len all the necessities he needed one-by-one before he even had a chance to ask for it, they were in that comfortable and efficient sync they were always capable of.
