Application

Please see the Cast of Characters for a list of taken and desired characters.Fill out the entire application and submit [for longer posts you will need to do this in sections].

Currently there are very few characters established in the Star Trek Reboot timeline, so there is some flexibility in character creation. We are currently accepting Original Characters though there is a wide variety of minor TOS characters that may be used [and our community already has a few!]. When working with OCs and minor TOS characters, please use the Character Background section of the application to establish them within the Star Trek Reboot verse. As always, Memory Alpha is an excellent source of information on Star Trek canon.

If you would like to reserve a character, please leave your information in a comment here.

[ Character Name ]: Spock S’chn T’gai
[ Race ]: ½ Vulcan ½ Human
[ Rank ]: Commander
[ Job/Position/Department ]: First Officer, Science Officer
[ Character Background/Description ]:

Half Human, half Vulcan and torn between two worlds, Spock grew up as the child of the Vulcan Ambassador to Earth Sarek and Amanda Grayson on Vulcan. As a child conceived through genetic assistance, his very existence represents a constant collision between the Human and Vulcan world.

As a child he was often taunted and insulted by the other children who criticized him for his Human mother, though, in the Vulcan sense of things, he prevailed beyond his peers in many academic subjects. Though he met the intellectual needs of Vulcan society, emotionally he was very much human and often became overwhelmed with his anger and sadness as a child, starting fights with schoolmates at any sign of deliberate hostility on their part. At his father’s request, however, he took it upon himself to fully embrace the teachings of Surak and the ideals of logic as a means of control over one’s emotions, a decision that shaped him as a person into adulthood.

After making the decision to join Starfleet as their first Vulcan Cadet, Spock worked closely with Christopher Pike after graduating from a Science track with an emphasis in Computer systems. With his knowledge of Vulcan dialects as well and various Federation planet cultures, after ranking up and accepting a future commission on the Enterprise Spock began instructing Advance Phonology and Interspecies Ethics at the Academy. It was then that he became romantically involved with Nyota Uhura.

Spock is a stoic character who is hiding many emotions behind his impassive visage. Through his interactions with the crew of the Enterprise he finally feels as though he belongs somewhere in the universe. While Starfleet was not his first option nor the one most popular with this father [whose respect he cares about greatly] he does not regret moving away from Vulcan and joining Starfleet.

First Officer’s personal log, Stardate 2258.167

The recent week’s events have been predominantly focused on the arrival of Harcourt Fenton Mudd on the Enterprise approximately 5  days and 6 hours ago. Since we captured his vessel in the Deneb system, he has persistently propositioned members of the crew to assist him in the procurement and escape of his vessel.

Upon futher investigation and interrogation we have found that Harcourt Fenton is a wanted criminal for extortion, mutiny and shuttle theft in 4 separate Federation planetary law systems. The captain, though fully aware of Mudd’s background, has desired a time of observation of the criminal psyche and motivation.

As there is no convicting evidence or established fact at this time of whether his activity has been of a criminal nature aboard the ship I cannot present reasoning to Captain Kirk for handing him over to the proper authorities. I must simply continue to observe and report anything of significance to Kirk.

Supplemental.

Doctor McCoy requested my presence in the Medical bay and then proceeded to ask a great number of inquiries that seemed significance in the context of his original request. I continue to regard him as the most significantly confusing Human in my acquaintances.

Observation Deck. 2100.

The simple message, concise and lacking entirely in detail, was sent to Uhura’s PADD before the beginning of Alpha shift and never mentioned by either of them throughout the day. They were both focused on their work and seldom diverted from it while they were on shift. Of course they both had important jobs; heading up communications and being the executive officer seldom meant you were off duty when you were suppose to be. But as Spock was an avid scheduler who seldom diverted from his agenda without dire situations [and even then he still gets upset about it] once this was in his planner there was little chance of it not happening.

Organizing anything even remotely romantic was not Spock’s forte. Back at the academy an adequate level of Romanticness could be achieved with minimal effort by simply taking Uhura to a restaurant, attending a culturally engaging event or simply going for a walk. Attempting any of those activities on a ship was impossible. On the ship, aside from a visit to the bowling alley or the occasional movie viewing there was not much to engage in culturally that was different from what they saw every day. The only places to eat were the lounges and recreation halls, which were usually occupied and far from romantic, or their quarters. Being as they spent most of their time in their quarters, he figured a change of pace was best for this particular evening.

With some deliberation and outside input, the location of the dinner was settled at observation deck where Spock brought replicated dinner and coffee as well as desert and various other things that are appropriate for a romantic dinner. As the room was not equipped for eating but contained plenty of wide open space, he spread a blanket on the ground with their dinner arranged in a visually pleasing manner in order for them to simply sit and observe the abyss of stars as they ate.

He stood close to the large observation window while he waited for Uhura to arrive, hands behind his back as he stared at the quickly passing stars.
