I've been really out of touch with this the last week or so.

I mean, what have I done? Uh.. I went to the book signing for An Inconvenient Truth(late June). I almost didn't, but I told myself to fucking get off my ass and finish what I started. So I got in line and thought It'd be like hours before I got to the end. Thankfully I was only in the fourth group and arrived at the front in a matter of minutes. Mr. Gore was pleasant, if not a bit aloof/unexpecting of my thanks as I shook his hand. I left with my book and was happy I took the time and effort to get D to drive me to Nashville. ^^

I had decided not to see the 'movie' and was happy to just read the book. Plus it'll always be around for me to remind myself of what's going on with the environment. But I won't rant about that here. Instead I'll be a hypocrite. We're looking at trading our car in finally for a new vehicle. Since we are pretty sure that construction is likely in the future(instead of 30 years of debt), if we don't just stay here. But we'll be needing something to haul stuff with without too much hassle. We were considering a truck, and I'm fine with that, but we fell in love with an SUV(4x4! rawr). I haaaaaaaaaate SUVs with a passion, most of them are big ugly boxes. However, it would be better to have one of those with more comfort room since we DO have a kid and a dog. I really don't want to drive to see my mom with my kid and dog in our kinda cramped backseat. It IS a sports car afterall. Anyway, working on that. Maybe I'll learn how to drive it one day. I suggested we get a hybrid, but I think we have or will have ONE Ethanol station somewhere in town.

July 4th was kind of uneventful. We decided to head to Nashville's celebration(which is apparently like the 3rd best fireworks show in the country). Big big mistake. Dean was working that day, so we couldn't leave until late, and when we got there, it was sooo packed. I managed NOT to succumb to the heat stroke/unconsciousness/exhaustion/whateverthefuck I was having, at least, and after we found out it'd be another hour and a half until we actually saw the fireworks display, we decided to leave. Probably best, 100,000 people does not make for a good time. It was so stagnant in some places, I was surprised how anyone could breathe in that mess. I felt bad that I wanted to leave, but I really do not like big cities. I feel like a fish out of water. Plus, the crowd would have only gotten worse.. and drunker.
:P

Beyond that, I've just been the same ol'. Trying out Auto Assault for the fun of it. Uh, driving around and blowing shit up is lots of fun. :) It's just a trial, but I don't know if it's really worth keeping. It's pretty neat actually, but it's missing something that could make it really freakin' cool. Too bad the game kinda flopped. There's so few players, and supposedly AA is the reason for NCSoft to have laid off so many employees. Ergh. The MMORPG market is wonky these days x_x.

But I sit, and I wait! For EVE's Path to Kali. Yesssss.

life, fun
