Speaking of movies, The Fall is playing this week at Tampa Theater. Having failied to catch it last week, this may be my/our last chance to see it before it hits DVD. As much as I don't like the uncomfortable seats and city street parking of Tampa Theater, I'd definitely like to check this one out.
I've been wanting to start listening to books on CD for the drive to-and-from work for a while now, but being that they are so expensive and that the local library's collection is nothing to scream about (sorry Janet Evanovich) it has been hard to get my hands on anything worth listening to. All that changed yesterday when, during a a work-related trip to Office Depot, I saw two Malcolm Gladwell (frequent guest on The Colbert Report!) audio-books on sale. So far I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to The Tipping Point and am looking forward to beginning Blink. I've found that it is much easier for me to listen to a book-on-CD in the car than to sit still in my room with a heavy book held together by both hands and a computer, TV, and Nintendo DS all in short reach to distract me. If you know of any sites where I can find good, cheap books on CD (no tape player in my car) let me know.
The 5th and final season of The Wire doesn't come out on DVD until August, and having just finished the phenomenal 4th, I anticipate going through withdrawals. I have a few movies lined up in my Netflix queue to keep me still until that day, including: The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, Stranger Than Paradise, Gozu, Bottle Rocket, and The Power of Nightmares. What am I missing?
