The weekend was a positive one this time, no negative aspects about it and I had a good couple of days.
Saturday morning I woke up early and was out of the house in record time, wanting to go on a hike I had planed before the weather got too hot. After a brief stop to stock up on water, sunscreen and a sunhat I was ready and drove to Griffith Park. I Was early so lucky enough to park in a very shady picnic spot. It was the only shady area though, as I soon found out. Now, maybe it is because I am not used to the heat yet, or maybe it just was hot very early on (there were lots of other people who were suffering from the heat) but the walk up to the top of mount hollywood was VERY HOT and tiring as a result. When I am hot my stamina just disappears. But I persisted and got to see the wonderful views, including the not so wonderful pall of smog that hangs over LA. Some pictures of the views are below.
By the time I got to the top I really wanted out of the sun so decided to take a different and more direct route down. I had seen lots of people go up it and figured that it would also be nice to take a different path. It started off fine and was a much faster route. Then it became a scramble, which was cool, I enjoy scrambling, although I admit it is MUCH more interesting when scrambling UP, going down is not so much fun. I then got to a cliff. It was not too high, I figured I could cimb it. What I hadn't counted on was the dryness of the screen like soil on each foothold. Ooops. I got half way down and was stuck as I couldn't find a stable foothold that my walking boot didn't skid off as soon as I tried putting my weight on it. I admit, I was not impressed to say the least and I certainly wasn't going to climb back up the mountain when I was a matter of a few meters from he bottom. So instead I climbed back up to a point where I was more stable and sat down to wait, figuring that someone would take this path sooner or later. After 10 minutes I was proved right and the guy showed me the proper path, a vastly different one from the one I had been attempting *grin*. I was very relieved to finally get to my car and turn on the air conditioning.
I spent the rest of the day swimming, relaxing and finishing a painting. It has been a while since I did a painting in oils, a long while, so I was quite pleased at how it turned out. It is of a dawn and is based on an actual mountain range and lake in Wales. It is titled A Begining, referring to the fact it is a dawn and also the first painting I have done in a while. The colours haven't come out very well on the digital image, the reds and oranges on the sky and lake are more vivid in the painting, but I am pleased with the effect.
Then I went over to Sox's place, arriving sometime after 10 in the evening. It was great to see him again after our interrupted weekend the previous week. Sox had decided he was going to use duel sensations on me, see whow I respond to that. He also used the toys he purchased at DomCon including the over the door restraints, and I have to say I agree that they are definately an excellent puchase. Certainly helped me to stay upright after I hit subspace :). As usual the session with Sox was fantastic and I even enjoyed the cane (yes, that one is MUCH nicer) and have a residual perfect mark of his new crop on my left hip :). The other aspect of the session was that it didn't end when it normally would, after sox gently took me down and helped me onto the bed, wrapping me in that wonderfully soft blanket of his and holding me. After I came around a bit both my arms and legs were strapped to the bed and the session continued. Hmmmm. It was a VERY good evening. Sox is a very skilled Dom, whether he admits it or not.
Well, the rest of the weekend was spent with Sox. Both of us were suffering a bit from the various activities of the day before, namely the hike for me and golf for Sox, our muscles and joints were protesting rather loudly, so we had a quiet day together. We went shopping and then he cooked me a fantastic meal on Sunday, something that I am really not used to, other people cooking for me. It made me feel looked after. And the food was very good :) I was then introduced to basketball :) as Sox just had to watch the Celtics vs (now I can't remember their name but they were from Cleveland weren't they Sox?). Anyway it was the 7th game and a lot rested on the outcome of the game. I have to admit, it was fairly fun to watch and the game was close. Much to Sox's agitation, lol. Then after some more fun and a lovely couple of hours just chatting with each other while lying in our birthday suits *wink*, Sox and I eventually decided we were hungry and went out for a meal. A very indulgent meal and I had a huge chocolately desert, which was far more decadent that Sox's milkshake, but both of us were bad. I also got rather emotional over dinner as we started talking about family and grandparents. It makes me very sad remembering as I miss them a great deal. They have all passed away. I know my fathers parents would have LOVED the fact I am in the USA.
I made the decision to stay the night again, to be honest I just didn't want to leave and really wanted more time with Sox, and drove back the following morning. It did mean we got o spend ome time watching TV cuddled up together which was very nice (we hadn't been able to cuddle during the basket ball game due to heat and Sox getting very excited about the match, it's cute when men get into sports like that).
Next weekend also looks to be a good one with friends visiting, the new indy movie and of course it is a long weekend, yay!!!!!
