I went to see John Brown's Body and the Sim Redmond(?) Band at the Ithaca state theater, and it was a kick ass show. Sim Redmond Band was kinda laid back, hang out with a girl on the beach type music so it wasn't too good for dancing but it was a great opening band. Nice pleasant sound and a little something to get warmed up to. JBB came on and were a lot better than I expected them to be. Really awesome reggae to bust moves to, and an inspiring rhythm section, but it could have gotten faster towards the end of the night. All in all it was an excellent show, one of the best shows I have been to in awhile. The entire trip consisted of a few joints, a lot of walking around, and getting slightly lost to the point where it just made the trip seem a bit adventurous. After that show I am super psyched for Eclipse, as I am feeling a very strong vibe of groovyness. Lots of dancing around my room when I am home alone, some impromptu jam sessions with friends, and cool conversations with just about everyone I know. I'm thinking about not getting a car and instead saving some money for school and buying some CDJ's and a mixer, and maybe a few more toys for my bass along with tickets to shows and party favors. I dunno really, I guess I will just have to see how things unfold.
