100 drabbles challenge #6 - Internet

His hands were clammy and he was ninetynine percent sure that his nervousness showed on his face, that probably was red as well.
Why was this in-real-life dating thing so difficult?
He knew this man, they were far from strangers, but still he couldn't think of a single thing to say.
During the two years he had known Masuda, and even more during the one and a half years they had been online boyfriends, they had spoken every day without fail.
They had shared everything with each other; every childhood memory and embarrassing story, even the secrets that they normally wouldn't tell anyone.
From the beginning it had been so simple, so easy to talk to Masuda, not fearing judgement or scolding, and Tegoshi had felt like this was what people talked about when they talked about true love.
But as their relationship got more serious, they had talked more and more about eventually meeting up and Masuda had even offered to transfer universities so they could get an apartment together.
Tegoshi had been really happy with how their plans had worked out, Masuda being able to schedule a tour of the university in Tegoshi's town so quickly after they had discussed it.
But sitting here, in an off-campus coffee shop, finally meeting each other for real, he wasn't so sure that this was going to work out.
Sitting across from this gorgeous man, his insecurities were resurfacing, and every thing he wanted to say sounded stupid and childish in his head.
He had been overjoyed when Masuda had tenatively taken his hand under the table, and he was pleased that he was still holding it, but that was really the only thing that indicated that they in any way knew each other.
Neither had spoken a word in the fortyfive minutes they had been sitting there, and Tegoshi thought that this must be the worst date ever.
He felt Masuda slowly withdrawing his hand from under the table, and braced himself for the rejection that was evidently coming his way.
-I'm just gonna...I'll be back. Masuda quickly stood up and left in the direction of the restrooms, and Tegoshi wiped his sweaty hands on a napkin.
Sure that Masuda wasn't going to return, he finished off his coffee and got ready to go home and mourn his failed relationship, when his phone lit up, indicating that he had an incoming skypecall.
-Well this is awkward. Hearing Masuda's voice over the phone almost made Tegoshi cry with relief.
Letting out a affirmative yeah and a sigh, he listened to Masuda's soft laugh on the other end.
-Well, I..it felt too embarrassing to say this in person but, you're really beautiful Tegoshi. Even more so than in your pictures. If there was ever a moment when Tegoshi wished that he could just erase every other person in the room, this would be it.
He could feel his cheeks burning, knowing that Masuda was just in the next room. Masuda had told him this before, but then he had only been judging based on pictures taken from just the right angle and badly-pixled video calls.
Hearing that Masuda still liked him, after seeing him all anxious and sweaty, gave him enough courage to take a leap of faith.
-You should..you should come back out.
-Yeah?
-Yeah.
