Starcraft and comic book movies. I'm a nerd.

First there were reports of professional Starcraft players in Korea actually throwing matches because of gambling and shit, and now it's suggested that Starcraft 2 is receiving a 18+ rating as some kind of retaliation for what is being seen as Blizzard's greed. Or whatever.

I don't even know, Korean Starcraft players are fucking hardcore. They're crazier than the Eve Online people, and that's saying something. (Eve Online is an MMO where the players have built their own functioning economy complete with banks. Like, all on their own, they run this shit. In fact, it's so much a real economy that apparently one player was caught embezelling funds in their in game job? And they had to devise a player run justice system or... something. It's all very confusing and mildly crazy.)

But the best thing to come out of all of this would be this comment in the GAF thread:Shady stuff. Blizzard could retaliate and cancel StarCraft 2, thereby destroying the Korean economy.
Hilarious because it is true.

Also funny is this crazy bastard:Starcraft II coming to Korea this year potentially is a large U.S export to South Korea. I could see Blizzard playing hardball by getting the U.S government involved. Sending in diplomats to threaten trade sanctions or tariffs on Korean imports to the USA.
Funny because he might actually be serious.

So, I saw Kick-Ass tonight as well. Great, great movie. Personally I would say best action sequences in a comic book movie. Yes, better than The Dark Knight which, if people are actually honest with themselves, had only average to subpar hand-to-hand shit and only really nailed the action sequences when vehicles were involved.

But that is not the film I intended to insult, of course. What I want to say is this: Zack Snyder's entire career is a fucking embarrassment when compared with this single film. His trite and overwrought bullshit is put to shame throughout and all I could think is how fucking terrible it is that this guy didn't get Watchmen instead.
