missmuffettwo1 , crazycatlady and I went to see POTC3 last night ... under the auspices of the ACG. I'd totally not gained any enthusiasm for this film, despite liking the first two. Possibly a lack of advertising/promotion of it. Anyways, I left it tooo late to make a proper costume and so my skirt & chemise are from my goth ensemble, and the stays were unfinished (spot the unbound edges)!
Still as I was portraying the pirate's Treasure Chest, so long as I had serious cleavage on display that was good enough for me. I got more than one gaping look down, so it worked!
The seats in cinema 1, at Greater Union Parramatta are insanely comfortable and spacious. We had wooden armrests between and even after a long film (time wise) our derrierre's hadn't given us the numb signal that time had passed (rather unlike the chair at the netcafe right now).
Greater Union had hired some entertainment - for that day only- to entertain the audience between movie screenings. I'd never heard of them, www.swordplay.net.au, but they noticed we were in costume and they have an interest in costume .. though perhaps less than their interest in sword play.
I'm keen to have another attempt at the stays, and make a better costume, cos there will be a chance to use it again.
