I made it to the sewing guild group today, which was great :D Got to chat a little and cut out a couple of things. first was my Go Petunia's t, that I'm remodelling. I might have goofed something, but meh, whatevs.
then I cut out 2 tops, and looked at a knit dress patttern I bought to turn into a top (adding sleeves naturally). I couldn't believe the back, it's gathered too, and there's 8" (20cm) extra fabric in the back. What the! Not even that much in the bust, so i think the pattern drafters were on crack. I'm glad I hunted for a cheap used copy rather than full price.
The pic isn't the greatest quality, but these are the knit fabrics I'm using for Real Life clothing. I'm not sure if I'll use the green knit a the top of the pic. I'm allowed to get 1 or 2 more if they're work quality.
The next down is an extra wide cotton, with a magenta/cyclamen spot knitted into it. I got it at the Fabric Cave visit a couple of months ago and suspect it's actually knicker fabric. It reminds me of stuff from 25+ years ago. There were a couple of big snags in the pattern, but I was able to cut around them.
Next up a seafoam rayon or cotton lycra recently bought at My Hung Hurstville. I cut that out in a simple scoop neck, 3/4 set in sleeves, sort of fitted T.
Next up a rayon or cotton lycra in dark grape, also from My Hung. I dithered wildly about whether to cut out the same T or not. Perfectionist streak is stupid when all I need is tops. Now.
Then a cotton knit (maybe not lycra) from umm, a year ago maybe? and then a seafoamy cotton lycra from spotty, which I could check my spreadsheet for date of purchase, but not going to yet.
