DVD remote control - still MIA

It's been more than 2 weeks and I still haven't stumbled across the remote control, which'll turn up somewhere more obscure than my freezer or laundry basket. But only after it's been replaced of course.

I found out that the replacement is still available at @ AU$74, which is in the ballpark I was expecting.  The DVD player itself has recently ( Read more... )

could you put a dvd on anyway with the tv on sleep and just let the dvd player stay on till morning?

Same effect, except on the lifespan of the DVD player. If the laser only has X number of hours, then I'd be wasting an awful lot of them, plus electricity. It's simpler to get a DVD player with a sleep button. I'll stretch out the life of mine as long as possible. Or as long as sanity allows.

Last night the couple in #18 were getting busy, with complete lack of volume control. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for them. But I'd rather not have to know about it. I should be grateful that at least they've moved the bed further away from the wall, and that either it's a new bloke or he's at long last found something other than "fuck. god. yeah" as an orgasmic expository.

Too much information? it is for me too!

Having the TV on was just enough to white noise it away. Once I'm asleep I'll sleep through almost anything, but first I have to get to the land of zzzzzzz

I think I bought my dvd player about 10 years ago and its still going XD
Well happy shopping! Any excuse is a good one I guess.

I think if I had a #18 around I would be tempted to time about 15-20 minutes after they're finished and start up my own 1-man circus of whatever noise making items I had on hand.

I was tempted to put up score cards in the lobby.

for example:

10pm 5/10 what's the rush?

3am 9/10 well it woke everyone else up

I'm sure they just don't realise how noise travels in the building, especially as everyone settles down for zzzz.

Or I could put up a voting board so everyone could give it a ranking.
