In some respects I have a lot of tolerance and patience, but when it's gone baby, it's gone. I used to be super incredibly patience, but that's gone in inverse proportion when I stopped being a meek & quiet little mouse. (It's true I tells yah!)
My patterns from Past Patterns (eep Saundra provided fantastic service too) Patterns of Time have had to be re-sent to me, wahh. Though I was prepared to wait another week for them to be resent, they're already in the post again. Every so often customs wants to inspect one of my parcels (usually the shoes) and I've noticed that it adds a couple of weeks to the usual time ... that's why I was prepared to wait.
Thanks to the great customer service Patterns of Time have given me, if the air is super speedy they might turn up this Friday. The three I've bought are:
Period Impressions #420 a 1770s robe polonaise,
Fingerless Mittens and the
1869 Figured muslin summer hood. The first is obvious, pretties! the Mittens, well with my short man's hands gloves are hard to find, so I thought I'd make some of these. The garden hood has been a lust have pattern since I first saw it. I might even use it in real life. Depending on the fabric it might be just the thing to help my delicate blossom skin dodge the burny sun. Or bits of my skin at least.
Last Friday i got all excited about a parcel notice and fixated on it being these patterns, but no. It was fabric I'd forgotten buying on eBay.
It's 3metres of 90cm (or 36") vintage cotton in a paisley print. I'm going to use it this summer as a casual shirt. I loves me some paisley, but rarely find one that I like enough to buy. All paisleys are not created equal.
faerie_mistress don't be too worried that I'd forgotten my fabric purchase, cos I hadn't forgotten the new shoes. (I knew they couldn't have made it from the UK in 24 hours). If I forget the next fabric purchase - already made - of some "maroon linen" I'm prepared to accept she might be right. Is it maroon, is it linen? We'll find out soon enough.
I'm hoping this textured "linen" will go with the printed linen I bought a few months ago.
