the medieval fair in Parramatta Park

Saturday was my sewing guild group, which was the expected amount of fun - huge - for me.  I spent 95% of my time doing all the machine sewing for my new viking apron dress, ie all but the shoulder straps.  The remainder was putting gussets into the under dress sleeves. They were far too snug in the forearm, so much that they didn't move down my arm as much as they should.  I've drawn a line to make it clear what I'm drivelling on about.  It's still a bit tight in the elbow, hence the crinkles, but there's not much I can do about that since I used most of the scraps to make the reticule for my regency.

I also re-strung my viking beads, including my latin american bronze level exam medal, just so it doesn't spend it's entire life in a trinket box.  The near shape of australia it forms, is quite a coincidence

and Lastly, though I'm glad I went, there were few others in period costume, though plenty of the Stevie Nicks variety of romantic faux-medieval impressionistic.  One of whom looked at me in disbelief and amusement.

It was a relief that CrazyCatLady & my arrival overlapped
chastangela, marco  &
cyan_witch, ie they waited to see me before leaving themselves.

There was a lot for the boys & their toys (ie fighting stuff) and not so much for those who wants them some costumey goodness.
