Some progress is being made! The pattern needed a bit of correction around the collar and side seams. I had to shorten the hem as well; the pattern was a few inches too long.
But after that, I was really happy with the results. Below is a shot of the lining with the interfacing pattern pieces pinned on to give an idea of what the finished product will look like. It's not been pressed yet so the bottom looks a little droopy. The collar will actually pop up a bit in the back once it's sewn on with interfacing.
Some notes: the original design has a seam along the middle back which I have taken out. Also, instead of darts, the original had a second seam across the front. This coat is NOT an exact replica. For those of you interested in the pattern when I'm done, please take this into consideration. =)
And lastly, the fabric and trims. The lace still needs to be dyed.
