Project Title : MM Emmanuel Frill Jacket & skirt
Short Project Description: Modified MM Emmanuel Frill Jacket with matching yoked dirndl skirt in Navy suiting fabric with navy overlay on the collar, skirt hem, and maybe pockets.
Projected Deadline: 3/14/13
Pattern(s) Used: Entirely self drafted. I'm not crazy, my teacher let me choose my own project for Advanced Pattern Drafting and I thought it'd be a good time to try making a pattern that would really challenge me.
Materials needed: 4.5-5yrds fashion fabric and lining, 1 yard interfacing, 3 fabric covered buttons, (original only has two but I opted for three) lace trim & dye, 2 yards contrast fabric, 9" invisible zipper, thread, ribbon/cord for lacing, and a fierce desire to destroy my brain in one week or less.
Challenges or obstacles : Lack of time, dyeing my own lace to match because JoAnn hates variety and the internet can't ship fast enough. And let's not forget the part where I had to make my own pattern; I'm nearly done with that part, but it has been quite a beastly project. Also, working with industry standard seam allowances. I'm used to my 5/8" and industry standards are quite different. Hopefully I don't screw anything up.
